We are happy to welcome you to our Web-portal, specially designed for all admirers of the Russian language and Russian culture. Wherever you are, we’ll help you to feel part of multinational Russophone world! 240 million native speakers speak Russian in Russia and neighboring countries, whereas another 40 million people, living in former Soviet republics, have at least certain knowledge of Russian. In Russia alone, the Russian language unites 150 nations and nationalities. Representatives of several of these ethnic groups live outside Russia, in different neighboring multinational states, with more than 26 million people considering themselves Russian native speakers. Thus, there is no doubt that Russian was and remains the main means of communication and integration for the peoples of Russia, as well as the CIS, the Baltic states and other neighboring countries.

Many people want to learn Russian nowadays; there is a growing interest in Russian in many countries of the world. Recent decision to introduce Russian as a compulsory subject at secondary school in Mongolia is an example of this trend. Some people plan to study or work in Russia, some are eager to keep up or brush up their knowledge of Russian and keep track of what their Russian counterparts are busy with. There is a growing interest in Distance education in Russia, including Russian language teaching. Our main goal is to help you find necessary Web sites and choose the best ones, the ones meeting you requirements. We hope that your interest in the Russian language and culture will not only give you a chance to acquire additional knowledge, but also will help you find new friends and soul-mates.

We target our project at:

Schoolchildren, who are learning Russian and want to continue their education in the framework of Russian Distance education or to deepen their knowledge of the Russian language, receive Russian General Certificate of Secondary Education, prepare to enter a Russian higher education institution, study in the framework of Russian system of Additional education.

Students, who have chosen a certain education institution in Russia in the framework of pre-higher education system. Young specialists, who have a bachelor’s degree and want to continue their education in Russia. Future post-graduate students of Russian higher educational institutions and research centers.

Teachers of Russian and other subjects, who want to do a refresher course, obtain information about Web sites containing useful data, teacher training aids, refresher courses in the country of residence or in Russia (on-site or off-site); training periods, Master’s degree program, post-graduate studies, doctorate.

Journalists and analysts, interested in the Russian language popularity in the CIS countries and the Baltic states. To cater for your needs special on-line tools for holding surveys and monitoring have been created with the help of Sociology Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences.   Using them you can study research results, compare their characteristics.
