For a Teacher

From the editorial board

Dear friends!

This column is first of all for teachers of the Russian language and literature. But we also hope that it will be useful for foreign centers of Russian culture, parents who want their children to love the Russian language, as well as the authors of textbooks, inventors of new teaching methods who want to share their experience.

Main sections of the column:

-   News for the teachers- information on conferences, seminars and other forms of support for teachers of Russian, new technologies, contests, as well as news you send to the editorial board.

-   Teaching methodology- description of methods and practical experience of teaching Russian and literature. You are welcome to contribute your publications and links you consider useful. We will be happy to inform you about interesting dissertations in philology and pedagogics.

-   Computer-aided Russian – a very challenging and promising direction in teaching Russian, ambiguous as everything new. This section will host “first-hand” materials from the authors of electronic teaching sources. You will not find quick fix recipes- the choice of the “right” source and method depends on the students’ abilities and teacher’s experience, classroom equipment and available nets. We are planning to present experience of using audio and video materials.

-   Refresher training- information on refresher courses for teachers of Russian, the most interesting experience, refresher programs including distance learning. You can also find information on master’s and postgraduate studies in Russia.

-   Professional organizations- links to Russian societies of teachers of Russian, Internet teachers societies and other organizations supporting the Russian language and culture. Our portal gives these organizations an opportunity to make their own web-page, which can be updated. Contact us if you are interested. Your news can be represented as a blog- go to «Communication”\”Blogs”. We will make our portal community as well.

-   Specialized journals- list and description of philological and pedagogic journals useful for teachers and researchers. You can also find information on IT teaching journals.

-   Textbooks – information on the most interesting textbooks of Russian as a second language as well as self-study books.

-   Encyclopedias and dictionaries- printed, on-line and electronic.

-   Useful links are the right links chosen by the editorial board as well as collection of links which is updated by famous qualified professionals who use reliable sources.

We are looking forward to your ideas. You can leave your message in the forum “Experience exchange”. “Useful links” is already in use. Moreover we are planning to use our partners’ projects (Quitura.ru and BobrDobr.ru) to create a  convenient collection of links on the Russian language, which we can recommend to our readers.

-   Teachers’ forum is now a usual way of communication for educational specialists. We hope that our forums will help you to find like-minded people and new friends among your colleagues.

The rubric “For teachers” pays special attention to the methods of using PC and other modern information technologies in teaching Russian as well as for your self-education. One should notice that multimedia catalogues of educational programs can be found in the rubrics «We learn Russian» / «Media» и «Resources»/ «CD, DVD on Russian Culture». They have been created in order to draw the attention of all visitors of our portal.

Modern methods of teaching Russian as second foreign language are being developed both in Russia and abroad. Sometimes little known Russian techniques of teaching Russian for natives may become very effective in teaching Russian abroad. Our editorial board will try to place this information on the pages of our portal. But we realize that a lot of interesting educational discoveries have been made by Russian language teachers in different parts of Eurasia who entirely devote themselves to the language they passionately love. It’s quite a problem for these enthusiasts to meet in person to exchange their experience. We will be happy to know that due to our portal many people will have a chance to speak of their life lengths and that new techniques will get grateful fans. And that’s why we ask you not to hesitate to write us! Please, e-mail your texts in .rtf, .pdf formats, and illustrations-in .jpeg format.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon and we’ll be glad to receive your proposals on how to improve our portal and this rubric in particular!
